Project decisions for Topeka & nearby areas
Pole Barn Project Planner for Topeka-Area Projects
Try a building configuration, see your project brief immediately and carry the choices into a quote request. You can leave optional decisions open.
Try your project choices
Build your pole barn project brief
Choose a starting footprint and the options you want discussed. Every selection is a preference for a builder to review; no combination is being approved for construction.
Calculations stay in this browser. Choosing the quote action carries an editable summary to the form; nothing is submitted until you send that request.

Turn the configuration into a useful builder conversation
Footprint is different from usable room
The calculator multiplies the dimensions you enter. Wall assemblies, posts, circulation and door movement can reduce or constrain the space you can actually use. List your largest vehicle or machine and the tasks that happen beside it. Use the size calculator and layout questions to check separate zones.
Choose floor and interior goals together
Long-term storage and regular work do not always need the same finishes. Describe heavy equipment, washdown, plumbing, floor coatings or conditioned space before asking for prices. The structural foundation and the finished floor are separate scope decisions.
Doors and covered side space change the design conversation
Identify what must pass through each opening and how you will approach it. A lean-to connects covered space to the main building and needs design review; selecting one here does not establish a safe connection or permissible footprint.
Pole barn planning checklist
- Measure vehicles, equipment, attachments and space needed to use them.
- Choose parking, work and storage zones; mark access between them.
- Identify the project town or ZIP and confirm the parcel’s permitting authority.
- List floor, doors, insulation, utilities and finishing work you expect included.
- Identify who handles site work, approvals, delivery access and cleanup.
- Ask the builder to explain exclusions and decisions still needed before pricing.
Use “Save Notes & Checklist” above for a text copy. Review what should be included in a quote when a proposal arrives.
